Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is a newly built cricket stadium located in North Sound in Antigua & Barbuda. The stadium was built in 2006 keeping the 2007 Cricket World Cup in mind. Currently the stadium has a capacity of 10,000 spectators which can be increased to 20,000 which was done during the 2007 Cricket World Cup. The stadium was built at a cost $60 million most of which came from the Chinese government.

Named after legendary West Indian batsman Vivian Richards, the ground hosted its first ODI in 2007 which was played between West Indies & Australia. The first test match on this ground was played more than a year later in May, 2008 when the West Indian took on Australia. The first T20I on this ground was played in 2010 between West Indies & South Africa. The ground had its share of controversy when in 2009 the outfield was found unsuitable for playing during a match between England & West Indies. Because of that ICC suspended the ground from hosting all kinds of international matches in for twelve months & issued a warning to the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
